Farms are homes as well as workplaces. Children and young people are regularly injured or killed on farms. The most common causes of death and major injury include; falling from vehicles, being struck by moving vehicles and contact with machinery.
Most accidents occur when children are being carried as passengers, are not under proper adult supervision, working or helping on the farm or are trespassing.
It is your responsibility to identify what might put children at risk and manage these risks.
Our health and safety workshops can help you do this and ensure your farm is a child safe zone.
